Woody builds two new 11.3m tourism RIBs - July 2008

The latest 11.3 metre design is one of two new builds launched recently to be used in the whale watch industry.

Based on a proven hull shape which has been optomised to provide second to none sea keeping qualities, coupled with a 23 degree deadrise and fine entry the passengers enjoy a very dry and comfortable ride.

Woody Marine delivers another world first. If a 14m RHIB doesn't get your attention then four V8 350hp Yamaha's powering this sleek and stylish boat with a top speed of 53 knots should. Last year saw Woody's deliver two 12.5m RIB's with quad 300hp Suzuki outboards. VMR Shoalhaven - July 2007

A large crowd was in attendance as was The Qld Emergency Services Minister, Neil Roberts, NSW Emergency Services Minister Nathan Rees, The Hon Justine Elliott, MP for Richmond, Mr Geoff Provest, MP for Tweed, Ms Jan Stuckey, MP for Currumbin, and Mr Max Boyd, Administrator for Tweed Council. The vessel, costing in excess of $400,000.00 was funded by grants from the NSW & Qld State Governments, donations from Twin Towns Club Services Club and through fund raising by the members of VMR Point Danger.

The Haines Group - June 2007

Two 25-inch and two 30-inch DF300s were fitted to a purpose-built 12.5 metre Naiad R.I.B. destined for eco tourism company Sensational Wave Adventures in Forster, Australia.

Boat builders Woody Marine and Suzuki distributor The Haines Group took the boat for its maiden run on Moreton Bay. With 30 people on board, they were still reaching speeds of 47 knots.

The Port of Brisbane - April 2007

A new, high-performance patrol vessel was launched today by Transport and Main Roads Minister Paul Lucas at the Port of Brisbane.

Mr Lucas said the $150,000 PortWatch 2 will boost surveillance and patrolling capabilities at the port which was visited by over 2,600 ships last financial year.

“The new vessel will go a long way in helping protect trade and critical infrastructure as well as the hundreds of people who work at the port.”

This ride on the ragged edge is based on a custom built Naiad 11.3 m RIB hull. The aluminium hull has a big rubber inflatable bolster, with the hull topped off with a striking targa top. The hull tips the scales at 5 tonnes.

Bay Journal - December 2006 

The Premier was at Mooloolaba Marina to officially launch a new dive vessel - the 11.3 metre MV Scuba World - an inflatable boat that can transport 20 divers at a time to the ex-HMAS Brisbane Conservation Park. "Recreational diving has become incredibly popular on the Sunshine Coast with Scuba World experiencing a 400 per cent boost in dive numbers in the 12 months following the scuttling of the ex-HMAS Brisbane," Mr Beattie said.
